The scientific publication system is fucked up. I have written up my reasons for why I believe this here.
One of the actions I believe every researcher can take is to take a white list approach to the scientific publication system.
This means formulating a set of criteria for journals that don’t suck™ (here are mine) and then stop publishing elsewhere. Stop reviewing elsewhere. Create and share your own lists of journals (this is what this collection here is all about).
This is a (hopefully) growing list of journals that don’t suck™ in the fields of research I am active in.
I would love to grow these and I am also very happy to link to other lists, so please reach out if you have input for additions or have created your own list in the space you research.
