About me

I do research on sustainability transformations, policy-making in the Anthropocene and digitalization, focusing on urban contexts.

I work as a lecturer at the Institute Urban Landscape of the ZHAW (Zürich University of Applied Sciences).

I am currently also finishing work at the Digital Society Initiative of the University of Zurich where I led the sustainability.discourses project from 2021-2025.

My expertise as a researcher lies in connecting my scientific knowledge of sustainability, digitalization, governance and policy to innovative computational social science skills. I love to use Natural Language Processing, Bayesian Regression Modeling and Network Analysis in applied research.

I obtained my (summa cum laude) PhD degree in Political Science from the University of Bern in 2019.

Besides research, I am first and foremost a father of two children. This also means that I work part-time.

I also played in a band for a long time, still like to make noise sometimes, and am a passionate bikepacker and micro-adventurer. I also serve as president of the board for the bike messenger cooperative Veloblitz.
